24 Jan Y6 Trip – The Victoria Tunnel
Year 6 had a fabulous morning visiting the Victoria Tunnel as part of their WW2 topic this term. They had the chance to go inside the tunnel (which was used as an Anderson shelter) and find out what life was like during the war – thanks to Lynne and Terry!
In addition to this, the children had the opportunity to speak to Basil, a man who was ten years old when the war broke out in 1939! This was a fantastic first-hand experience for the children and they loved hearing about his life.
A big well done to all of the children in Year 6 also. The staff at the Victoria Tunnel thanked you for your engagement, politeness and sensible questions!
