Dear Parents/Carers,

With the end of the academic year fast approaching, I am aware that many of our children may be considering buying their teacher a gift.

Whilst all the teachers and myself are grateful of the children’s and parents’ kindness, we are mindful that some families may be experiencing financial difficulties right now due to the effects of the recent pandemic. In addition, we must all show responsibility for limiting the spread of infection; therefore, I politely ask that you do not buy a gift for your child’s teacher this year.

As an alternative, you may wish to donate an item to a food bank or a charity of your choice, to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
