Robotics at Riverside!

Year 3 and Year 4 had some special visitors from the engineering department at Derwentside College this week.

They came to share their expertise about engineering linked to electricity and robots. The children had a fantastic afternoon, taking part in three different sessions.

They enjoyed building their own circuits using bulbs, batteries and switches. The children even followed instructions by themselves to add a buzzer to their circuits to make some very noisy sounds including ambulance and police sirens!

Outside, the children programmed different types of robots to follow a route. It was great fun! A big thank you to all the staff who came to work with us.
