World Book Day
March 7, 2019
It is world book day on Thursday 7th March 2019 and to celebrate the importance of books and reading, we are encouraging children to dress up as a character from their favourite story or novel and wear their costume throughout the day for school! If they do not wish to dress up that’s absolutely fine too, just wear something comfy that they can enjoy reading in.
Children are also encouraged to bring an old book into school on this day and teachers will allow time throughout the day for a ‘book swap’ whereby each child with a book can swap with another.
Remember to bring in an old book, that you no longer want, as the books which will be swapped will go home with another child for them to keep. Teachers will also be organising lots of fun reading related activities on that day too!
