Sports Week

Information about our Summer Sports Week 

At Riverside Primary Academy we have made significant changes to our usual summer sporting events this year due to the restrictions placed upon the school in the light of Covid-19. Our teaching staff are currently in the process of planning our Summer Sports Week which is due to commence Monday 14th June.  All of our children will have opportunity to take part and compete in sporting events alongside their peers within their class bubble.  We have some great activities and treats planned for the pupils.  Unfortunately, classes from within the same Key Stages will not be able to take part and compete in the events all at the same time due to social distancing and the need to sanitise all of the equipment before and after it is used by each bubble.  

It is with regret that we cannot invite community spectators to the events this year as we need to manage the restrictions / regulations placed upon us and control the events in a Covid safe way for all of our families.  However, we do intend to take lots of photographs and share as much as we possibly can with parents and carers via our website and social media.   

We ask that during the Week of the 14th June all children come to school every day in PE kit (trainers, jogging bottoms or shorts, T-shirts) and we also ask that pupils have their allocated house colour T-shirt in school so they are ready to take part in competitive events throughout the week.
