Year 3 & 4 Hindu Visitor

Yesterday Year 3 and 4 had a special visitor, Kirtida from Newcastle Hindu Temple. She came with lots of exciting Hindu artefacts and clothing for us to explore. We enjoyed finding out lots of interesting information about the Hindu religion, we listened to Kirtida sing, chant and play her special drum. We ended the session with some fun dressing up and questions and answers!

World Book Day!

Today, we celebrated world book day in school and dressed up as our favourite book or story characters, or in comfy clothes, for a day of reading and book related activities! We started the day with an assembly by Mrs Knott to talk about Reading and why it is not only important, but also lots of FUN to do! Reading a good book can transport you anywhere you want to go! The heaviest chick is 100g or 21 cubes (Year 1 have been measuring in cubes, while Year 2 measure in grams!) I wonder how big they will be when they are fully grown?

Achievement, Teaching, Behaviour and Leadership

Welcome to our Academy… As Headteacher of Riverside Primary Academy, I would like to warmly welcome you to our school website. I hope you can find all of the information you require about our school here, but if you have any further questions, please ring us and ask. The Governing Body, the Leadership Team and I have a very clear vision of what we want and how to get the best deal for our children and the community we serve. For this reason, we made the decision in 2012 to become an academy. This means we have been given the freedom to make choices for our school which bring the most benefits to our children and our families. We are no longer a Local Authority school and therefore, there are some differences in the way we do things at our school to the way they are done in others. … Read More
