The Headteacher and Governors at Riverside Primary Academy are seeking to appoint two supervisory assistants to join our team.  If appointed, you will work alongside a professional team of colleagues from within the school.

 

Grade: B (£15,375 approx, pro rata term time only – Actual: £2,397.79 per annum)

Hours of working: 12:00pm -1:15pm Mon-Fri  – 6.75 Hours per week

Interview date(s):  Thursday 7th & Friday 8th September 2017

Start date: September 2017

 

We are looking for the following:

 

Essential:

 

  • A willingness to work as part of a professional team and support groups of pupils you are asked to work with.  We expect you to be polite, well-mannered and presentable at all times.
  • An excellent attendance/punctuality record.
  • Two fully supportive references.  One must be from your most recent employer or from your college if this is your first job.
  • Provide creative and appropriate play opportunities including preparing activities and organising equipment.
  • Have the ability to consult with children and involve them in the planning of activities.
  • Ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with school policy.
  • Promote health and well-being through physical activity and play.
  • Make a record of any accidents in the accident book and report accidents to the class teacher or senior leadership team where necessary.
  • Ensure play provision is varied and is accessed by pupils with different needs and pupils at different stages of development.
  • To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the Headteacher or line manager.

 

Desirable:

 

  • NVQ level 2 in Childcare, Playwork or equivalent
  • First Aid at Work qualification
  • Previous experience in a school setting
  • To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. Training, Staff Meetings, carol service etc.
